Castle Hill

I’ve been here so long, I think that it’s time to move
The winter’s so cold, summer’s over too soon
Let’s pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow

– swing life away – rise against –

I remember listening to that song many years ago,  and when it came to those lyrics I was all like. ” YEAH! Im gonna do that!”….. and now I have….weird.

and as hard as it might be to believe for those back home. Sometimes I forget I’ve moved to a postcard. I get used to my surroundings and where I am and take it for granted.

But sometimes…  Every once and a while, I walk around the corner to go to the fish and chips shop. I look up at castle hill like I do everyday, But something clicks and I go ” Oh yeah, I live in Australia”
And realize how blessed I am. cause we dont have mountains in my backyard in Saskatchewan.

Woje

II took some band photos for a friends band yesterday for a media pack they are doing up, We didnt use this one, but we were having some fun and i LOVED it.

Its funny this week I felt like giving it a big three thumbs in my eyes and when I feel like im having a bad day like that, I dont want to take photos. Then when I take photos. I feel better.
Duely noted.

Edna…Mode

I sit down at work everyday and think of the incredibles whenever i see this. …..Edna…Mode…..

Anyways behind it are a small amount of the masses of magazines I have to inspire me in my projects. People say I dont need them and I should clear it out to make storage space. I disagree.

ps. Stephen. If your reading this. Your legacy lives on.

Sorry for the length of this one…

1. I know these were meant to be short. But hang in there

2. This is my photo today, We had a “Canadian party”as one of our friends went to Canada recently and brought back everything good that is Canadian candy, It was amaaaazing and everyone had a bellyache. It made me more excited for my trip home in July then ever before!

3. The reason this is so long…. is because I have been inspired by a blog post I saw yesterday on a site called ” Stuff Christians like ” ( so funny for the record )Ill condense it a little bit. but for the most part its just copy and paste.

Most people have a love or an activity or something in their heart that makes them feel alive and lightheaded. It’s that thing you can do for hours without thinking about food or friends or anything. Time speeds across your head and hands like a bullet train. But there’s a problem.

Most people decide whether or not to pursue their thing every day. They sit down at the computer or the easel and have a discussion with themselves, “Should I do my thing today? Do I feel like it? Is there anything inside me right now that wants to? Is this the right moment? Are there other things I need to do?” And so they argue. Most times, maybe 90% of the time, what Steven Pressfield calls “resistance,” wins. You give up. You never start. You put it off for one more day. You don’t do your thing.

So what I did as a writer was decide to write. I don’t have that conversation with myself everyday because I know I will lose it. I had that conversation once, about two years ago, and I have not looked back. Sure, there are days when it is harder than others and I fail. But for the most part, that is a settled issue. I am a writer. Writers write. They don’t argue about whether to write. They don’t analyze if they will write today or not. They write.

There’s my not-so-secret secret.

Stop deciding whether you will sing or dance or be an accountant or study or play with your kids.

Decide it once and then do it.

The end.

Just so were on the same page. This isnt a claim that I will have this updated every day of my life because the reality is. Im busy. And I wont. But no longer will I choose have that arguement in my head if I am going to take photos today. If I have the chance. Im going to do it. Because its what I love to do.

Townsville City Youthfest

Townsville put on a youth festival this past weekend and with YWAM being pretty much a rent a crowd he helped out in any way possible. from setting up our huge skate ramps to helping clean up rubbish. it was a really cool weekend that even featured a social injustice art workshop and a 20 meter long banner full of awesome graffiti ( relating to social injustice as well ) Check out more of the photos on my facebook of the event!
